    Cultural Immersion Week

Bali is an Indonesian island located in the Western region of the Lesser Sunda Islands, between Java, and Lombok. It is one of the country's 33 provinces with the provincial capital at Denpasar in south of the island.

Bali is renowned for its diverse and sophisticated art forms such as painting; sculpture; woodcarving; handcrafts; performing arts; and Balinese percussion orchestra music, known as gamelan. Balinese art often portrays stories from Hindu epics such as the Ramayana but with a heavy Balinese influence. Dancing is extremely prominent in local culture, and famous Balinese dances include pendet, legong, baris, topeng, barong, gong keybar, and kecak (the monkey dance). Bali boasts one of the most diverse and innovative performing arts cultures in the world, with paid performances at thousands of temple festivals, private ceremonies, or public shows throughout the year.

Bali is rich with culture and tradition, and it is important for you to spend your first week learning as much as you can about this province. This is the aim of the cultural immersion week. We will help to introduce you to this fabulous country, so that you can begin your amazing journey.

Teaching Internships: Helping the Children of Bali

If teaching is your career of choice, and you are looking for unique opportunities, you should consider an international teaching internship. Education is a crucial tool in helping the children of developing countries to have a brighter future, but an internship program can also benefit an ambitious professional who wants to make their job application stand out from the crowd.

    The Project

Our volunteers are invited to teach English and Special Education to the children of local primary schools in Bali. You’ll be free to choose how you want to teach, and will have access to facilities both in a school and in our centre premises.

We hope that by volunteering you will be able to help local children to improve both spoken and written English, as well as other more general skills, like computing. All volunteers must have good conversational English abilities and enjoy working with children. Previous teaching experience is highly valued but not essential for this placement.

Teaching English will be your main task, but you might be asked to offer other subjects, such as arts and crafts; or sports like football, hockey, cricket and athletics.

Our careership program in Indonesia is currently looking for unpaid volunteers, but the experiences that you’ll have will be unique and invaluable to your own career progression, inlcuding becomming a Paid Teacher. Check out our paid internships.

New projects are cropping up all the time, so bookmark us and keep an eye on our future projects.
