Language Curriculum Development - Bali

This placement is with a local NGO which teaches young balinese children English, to help improve their vocational skills. Those who can speak English are at a distinct advantage, and more likely to get well paid jobs. 

The NGO are looking for someone with previous experience in English curriculum development to create an interactive and relevant curriculum focused on speaking and listening activities for beginner adults and children classes.

You will work individually or with a team of teachers to help develop and maintain an English curriculum for the school. We need a curriculum for three different age groups; Elementary School, Junior High School and Senior High. We have a large turnover of volunteers each month, therefore it’s necessary that we can develop a curriculum which easy adaptable by everyone and which can be used as a guideline for new arriving volunteers. You will also be asked to follow up on the success of the developed curriculum, track student attendence and conduct meetings with the volunteer teachers.

You will be met at Denpassar International Airport and taken directly to the project location

You will be given full support in finding suitable accommodation in one of the many guesthouses available in the area. There are many to choose from, at very good value - around £5 per night. There are also many restaurants to choose from, with local dishes starting at 50p. You can rent a motorbike for around £1 per day. The staff will make sure you have everything you need and are very comfortable.

* Some previous experience writting and designing English Curriculum(s)

£249 GBP Placement Fee
 

What's Included:

Integration into the project, airport pickup, 24 hour support, orientation and project activities.

We charge a flat, one-off Placement Fee of £249 GBP per person per project. This covers our costs for promoting the project and providing our services. We offer full pre-departure support (for all necessary flights, visas and vaccinations) and ongoing assistance throughout your placement.
 

What's not included:

Food, accommodation, flights, visas and vaccinations. Full assistance will be provided in getting all these arranged.

You should budget around £20 GBP per day for food and accommodation.
