'Montessori-type' Private School Education - Peru
Location: Puno, Peru
Duration: Minimum 2 months.

You will work at a newly built local school in the town of Puno. In response to the often inadequacies of local schools, the founders of this new school adhere to Montesori-type learning, where the children can learn at their own pace and in a fun environment. There is a small horticultural garden, animal sanctuary and swimming pool, ensuring that the children have plenty to do and learn. The school currently has 42 children, aged between 4 and 7 years old. Each year, the school adds a new class, increasing the age range of the school.
The main requirement for the school is for native English teachers. However you are free to also teach any other subjects or skills you may know; such as guitar (or music), football, swimming, mathematics, gardening etc. This is a very flexible placement, tailored to your interests and abilities, within the scope of the needs of the school. The staff are very friendly and will do their best to support you and help you develop any ideas you may have. This is an amazing opportunity to pioneer a new type of education to the area, and hopefully create a new trend for better schools in Latin America.
You will be met at Juliaca airport by a project repersentative, and taken to the project location, at no additional cost.
You will stay in the main house next to the school, living with the founders of the school. You will have a private room with bathroom. All meals will be cooked in the communal kitchen. There is internet access and free tea all day long. You are also right next to Lake Titicaca. You will be able to make excursions onto the lake and explore the nearby area.

What's Included:
You will be given free food, accommodation, airport pickup, orientation, 24 hour support and project activities.
We charge a flat, one-off Placement Fee of £249 GBP per person per project. This covers our costs for promoting the project and providing our services. We offer full pre-departure support (for all necessary flights, visas and vaccinations) and ongoing assistance throughout your placement.
What's not included:
Flights, insurance, visas (if applicable) and vaccinations. Full assistance will be provided in getting all these sorted.
