Paid Project Coordinator Position - India
Location: Mysore, India
Duration: Minimum 12 months

Salary: $150 USD per month + all food, accommodation, 50% reimbursement of flights
You will be working for The Green Lion, who have been running many volunteer and tourism projects throughout Asia over the past 10 years. You will be responsible for the successful running of their projects; including management of volunteers, logistics and administration of the project.
You will also be expected to get involved in; the development of The Green Lion Projects, networking and relationship management with in-country partners, collaborators and other NGOs. Management of existing programs, setting up new programs in new locations and assisting in developing sustainable projects in all program locations.
This post would also require a strong administrative control including management of budgets, accounts, reporting procedures and supervision of local staff.
General Role Outline
- To ensure the health and safety of all volunteers and field staff involved in the project, dealing with any medical incidents should they arise, being ready to initiate and implement an emergency medical evacuation procedure if necessary.
- Management, support and development of volunteers in all aspects of their participation on the project.
- Organization and supervision of camp activities and the schedule of camp duties.
- Preparation of a camp work schedule taking into account all relevant safety, physical, logistic and financial considerations.
- To manage local employees.
- Administration and control of project budget, ensuring that expenditure does not exceed allocated funds.
- Site visits to various program locations.
- Quality control on all our programs.
-Management of all country relationships including current partners and collaborators, prospective partners and other NGOs;
- Administration and control of the country office including management of HQ budgets, production of accounts and weekly reports.
- Supervising the arrival, brie?ng, and deployment of new volunteers and project staff.
- Updating Program Information on the Green Lion database.
- Holding meetings with support staff and training new staff on soft skills and work style.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To oversee and arrange arrival of new volunteers and transport, accommodation and briefing volunteers and staff on all aspects of country life upon their arrival in country.
- To ensure that all volunteers are deployed constructively, usefully and enjoyably and will ensure the discipline and good behaviour of all members of the project.
- To send weekly reports/ updates each Friday.
- To send monthly performance report and goal setting for the following month.
- To oversee the maintenance, servicing and repair of all project equipment and centres as necessary.
- To generate new business and build new partnerships.
- Identifying potential new programs, project locations, partners and ideas which will help in the overall development of the organization.
- Liaising with collaborating organizations, including projects and participants to maintain relationships.
Project Coordinator

- Supervise and arrange arrival of new volunteers and project staff, arranging immigration, visas, work permits, accommodation and briefing volunteers and staff on all aspects of country life upon their arrival in country; Oversee the maintenance, servicing and repair of all country HQ equipment, primarily the vehicle and office equipment;
- Oversee the allocation, use and maintenance of all the Society's resources on the field projects;
- Oversee and act as internal verifier for elements of the project field training;
- Helping as requested with any tasks concerning the work of the Society including letter
You will be met at the airport and taken directly to the project HQ. Here you will be given a full orientation and introduction to the staff and offices.
You will be given your own room, with private bathroom during your stay, and will eat in the dinner hall along with other volunteers and staff.
General Requirements
- Minimum 12 months commitment - 25+ hours a week.

Fee:
£249 Placement Fee
Salary:
You will be paid $150 USD per month + all food & accommodation - can be increased based on experience, qualifcations & performance.
50% contribution to international airfare.
What's Included:
You will be provided with food and accommodation at the project HQ whilst you are working for the organisation, including on weekends. You will be met at the airport upon arrival and given full orientation and 24 hour support.
Your first month will consist of training for your role, and the first 3 months will be considered a probationary period.
We charge a flat, one-off Placement Fee of £249 GBP per person per project. This covers our costs for promoting the project and providing our services. We offer full pre-departure support (for all necessary flights, visas and vaccinations) and ongoing assistance throughout your placement.
What's not included:
Visas, insurance, vaccinations and 50% cost of your flights. Full assistance will be given in getting all of these arranged.
