Paid Teaching - Ghana

Are you a newly qualified teacher with a sense of adventure? For teachers interested in entering the international education field, this project is an unmissable opportunity to gain teaching experience in one of Africa's most welcoming countries.

Teach 4 Ghana is an exciting initiative that matches qualified teachers with the growing number of international schools in the country that teach the British National Curriculum. Working alongside Ghanaian teachers you will share good practice and gain invaluable skills that will serve you wherever your teaching career takes you. There is currently a high demand for English and Mathematics teachers in the country; however, teachers of other subjects are also welcomed.

Whether based in the bustling capital of Accra or in more rural locations you will have the opportunity to explore all that this diverse country has to offer, from a thriving music culture, unspoiled beaches, and of course, the infectious energy of the Ghanian people.

Teachers will take on a regular teaching load throughout the academic year. Working with school administrators and other teachers you will write schemes of work, lesson plans, and mark and assess student work. In addition you will have the opportunity to get involved in extracurricular sports, arts, and cultural activities.

The British National Curriculum will be provided to teachers. You do not have to be British or have a British teaching qualification for this project. All lessons are taught in English. Full teaching assistance will be provided throughout your trip/

You will be met at Accra international airport and taken to the project HQ.

You will be provided with a private room in a shared apartment or house with other teachers. You will have access to a fully equipped kitchen and all amenities are available nearby. Our coordinator will make sure you have everything you need and are comfortable and safe.

* Min age 18 - Max age 60

* Minimum 10 months commitment - 30+ hours a week.

* Enthusiasm and interest to work in teaching and with children

* Formal Teaching qualifications. 

* Good command of English

* Full travel & medical insurance

* Necessary vaccinations 

* Necessary flights & visas 

Fee:

 £500 Project Fee  +  £249 GBP Placement Fee
 

What's Included:

Project Fee includes; Skype / telephone interview, relevant reference checks, personalized matching with the best schools, assistance with visas, orientation upon arrival in Ghana, airport pick up & drop off and 24 hour support throughout your placement.

We charge a flat, one-off Placement Fee of £249 GBP per person per project. This covers our costs for promoting the project and providing our services. We offer full pre-departure support (for all necessary flights, visas and vaccinations) and ongoing assistance throughout your placement.
 

What's not included:

Flights, insurance, visas and vaccinations. Full assistance will be provided in getting all these sorted.

You will cover all your living expenses with your salary.
