Paid Teaching - Mongolia

The University in which you will teach is a non-profit, non-governmental organization setup up to offer professional educational development to Mongolian students. Founded in 2005, the universty has helped thousands of young Mongolians to gain experience and knowledge in many fields, including economics, finance, computer science, English and many other subjects. Exchange programmes are also setup with universities across the USA, Taiwan and Korea, creating valuable opportunities to this isolated region. Speaking English is an important commodity in today's global society, and your help is needed.

We are looking for native English speakers (with or without teaching qualifications) with a zest for teaching to help improve English abilities at this private University. You will be given full assistance in living and working in this unique part of the world, earning money whilst getting to know Mongolian society and culture. 

Your daily life will involve teaching 20-25 hours per week, 5 days a week. Your students will predominantly consist of university and high-school students, who have signed up for English lessons alongside their other studies. Your main focus will be on English comprehension and speaking (especially pronounciation), therefore if you do not have TEFL (or other) training but are a native speaker, you are still welcome to join us. You will be given a curriculum and teaching books to use, and other staff to help you plan lessons etc., should you need. Ofcoarse if you already have teacher training or experience, you are strongly encouraged to apply.

Your week will mainly involve working through the mornings, therefore you will have the rest of the day to meet friends and explore Ulanbaator. This is a very flexible placement working amongst friendly and accommodating staff.

You will be met at Ulaanbaatar international airport and taken to the project HQ.

You will be provided with a private room in a shared apartment or house with other teachers. You will have access to a fully equipped kitchen and all amenities are available nearby. Our coordinator will make sure you have everything you need and are comfortable and safe.

* Minimum 3 months commitment - 25 hours a week.

* Enthusiasm and interest to work in teaching and with children

* Teaching qualifications / experience preffered, although not obligatory. 

* Native English speaker (or very fluent)

* Full travel & medical insurance

* Necessary vaccinations 

* Necessary flights & visas

Fee:

£249 GBP Placement Fee
 

Salary:

$500 USD per month + accommodation + cultural tour + full return airfare (if you can commit to a full school year) + working visa reimbursement
 

What's Included:

You will be provided with airport pickup, accommodation and 24 hour support throughout your placement.

We charge a flat, one-off Placement Fee of £249 GBP per person per project. This covers our costs for promoting the project and providing our services. We offer full pre-departure support (for all necessary flights, visas and vaccinations) and ongoing assistance throughout your placement.
 

What's not included:

Food, travel insurance and vaccinations. Full assistance will be provided in getting all these arranged.

You will be able to cover all your living expenses with your salary. If you can only commit to less that one academic year, partial reimbursement of airfare will be considered.
