Dramatic, landlocked Mongolia has been tipped by economists to become one of the fastest-growing economies in the next decade, and Mongolians are eager to learn English and gain exposure to Western culture and media. There is great need for those with Western influences and knowledge to help develop the English media in Mongolia. You will be working for an Independent national newspaper which delivers English news 3 days a week.
You will have the opportunity to get involved in the following types of activities:
* Preparation of articles and and content, as required on a daily basis.
* Come up with new ideas to 'Westernize' their content, format and style of the newspaper.
* Assist in the editing & proof reading of content
* Opportnities for photo-journalism, and to follow reporters into the field.
* Teach English language and culture to the local staff
You will be met at Ulaanbaatar International Airport by the project coordinator and taken to the project HQ by a project representative.
You will be staying with a Mongolian family homestay. You will get your own private room, with shared bathroom. Our coordinator will make sure you are comfortable and happy. Be sure to state your preferences with us when applying.

* Minimum 1 month commitment - 30+ hours a week.
* Previous knowledge and experience in journalism

Fee:
$495 USD Project Fee per month + £249 GBP Placement Fee
What's Included:
Project Fee includes food (breakfast & dinner), accommodation, airport pickup, orientation, 24 hour support and project activities.
We charge a flat, one-off Placement Fee of £249 GBP per person per project. This covers our costs for promoting the project and providing our services. We offer full pre-departure support (for all necessary flights, visas and vaccinations) and ongoing assistance throughout your placement.
What's not included:
Flights, insurance, visas (if applicable) and vaccinations. Full assistance will be provided in getting all these arranged.
You should budget around $5 per day for lunch
