Location: Cambodia
Duration: Minimum 3 months
Cost: There is no project fee, you will only need to cover your living expenses. You should budget around £5-10 a day for food and accommodation.
Travel: You will be given easy to follow instructions on how to get from Phnom Pehn International Airport to the project location.
Work: Take Action on the many environmental issues facing Cambodia.
Introduction
This Environmental NGO plays an important role in contributing to a healthy environment in Cambodia. They are well known by all levels of community, nationally and internationally, as an organization which has high commitment & expertise in natural resource.
They achieve their goals through the following strategies:
1. Raising awareness and education
2. Providing technical support & strengthen cooperation with relevant partners
3. Promoting participation from individuals, households and communities
4. Participating with government in relevant policy formulation
Since its creation over 10 years ago, the NGO has been responsible for a large and diverse territory covering many provinces of Cambodia. They have been highly successful in a range of projects including; the provision of technical support and increasing environmental awareness among the general public through teaching programs, various publications and environmental awareness campaigns. The NGO has been working on a firm belief that providing education and increasing public awareness in environmental issues are fundamental to conservation. Therefore the primary focus has been on education as a key to conservation. They continue to address environmental issues by disseminating accurate information and knowledge to local communities and other stakeholders and envouraging networking amongst all.
Daily Life
This NGO is looking for volunteers to assist in all areas of the organisation, including;
* Writing and editing of publications
* Getting involved in the various community projects
* Marketing and advertising
* Website development
* Human resources administration & mangement
You will get to work with experienced staff and learn more about environmental issues in Cambodia.
Accommodation
You will be given full assistance in finding local accommodation in a guesthouse or apartment nearby.

* Necessary flights & visas - You will need to arrange a business Visa before arrival
